President's Letter

Dear credit union member,

I’m pleased to announce that the Peach State FCU C.A.R.E.S. Foundation recently awarded almost $200,000 in scholarships and educational grants to students and members throughout our service area this year. Our scholarship program has awarded over $1.9 million to area students and members furthering their education since 2001. Congratulations to this year’s recipients! On behalf of the Peach State C.A.R.E.S. Foundation, we wish them all great success in their future endeavors!

In other C.A.R.E.S. Foundation news, we recently joined forces with four other Georgia credit unions to raise nearly $30,000 in support of the Ukraine Humanitarian Fundraiser. The funds were raised thanks to the generosity of members and employees at these credit unions. All proceeds benefit the Ukrainian Credit Union Displacement Fund that was created by the World Council of Credit Unions and Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions. The goal of the fund is to provide financial support for the short- and long-term impacts to the Ukraine’s credit union system.

In our ongoing efforts to continue providing quality member service, I’m excited to share that our website is being redesigned. This summer we’ll be introducing a new website that will feature a modernized look, easier navigation, and an enhanced member experience. We recognize the importance of providing an online experience that is equal or superior to the service you’ve come to rely on when visiting one of our branches. It is our hope that the new website will provide greater convenience and efficiency when interacting with us, whether it’s to access your accounts, apply for a loan or take advantage of one of the many helpful services that are available to you as a member. Be sure to keep an eye out for updates in the coming weeks!

As always, thank you for the opportunity to serve the financial needs of you and your family.

Marshall Boutwell
President/CEO

Prices are Soaring, But Where Can We Cut Back?

BALANCE offers FREE resources for budgeting and finding ways to cut back spending.

While we can’t change what’s going on in the world with inflation, we can help you find ways to cut your spending and save money. At Peach State, we’ve partnered with BALANCE, a financial education and counseling service, to provide members with FREE resources for creating a spending plan that can help you save money during times of rising costs. Understanding your budget and finding ways to cut back will help you stretch your dollars.

Here are some quick ways you can get started.

  • Cut back on eating out and pack a lunch instead.
  • Cancel unused subscriptions – you can always resubscribe when you have a little more extra cash.
  • Swap out name-brand items for a less expensive alternative.
  • Carpool with co-workers to reduce gas costs.

Another way to save money is to consolidate your credit card debt. By transferring balances from cards with high interest rates to a lower rate card, you could enjoy a more manageable monthly payment and possibly payoff your balance faster. We offer a variety of Visa Credit Cards with fixed-rates as low as 6.9% APR and 0% for six months on all new purchases and balance transfers!1

To learn more about budgeting and ways to make your money go further, visit peachstatefcu.balancepro.org/programs.

1 APR – Annual Percentage Rate. The 0% introductory APR applies to purchases, cash advances and balance transfers. Offer applies to new Visa Credit Card accounts only and may expire at any time; does not apply to account upgrades. If you are upgrading from a rewards card to a non-rewards card, then your points will expire at the time of the upgrade. The 0% APR is effective for the first six statement periods following the opening of your account. The APR will return to the annual percentage rate of your approved card type after the promotional period, or if you fail to make a minimum periodic payment during the promotional period within 60 days from the due date for that payment. Rates range from 6.9% to 14.9%. A $15 application fee is charged for processing. Subject to credit approval.
